I do not know whether it is a natural disposition in me, or something acquired, or both, that I have the need—as soon as I see that the people with whom and among whom I live primarily, or perhaps exclusively, focus on the shadow side of a matter—to change my viewpoint on the same matter until I have looked at the bright side, and vice versa.
