Tarquinius the Seventh, the last King of the Romans, goes to venerate the tombs of his predecessor Kings. While his pages celebrate the power of their master with a minuet, at Tarquinius’ invitation, the six Roman Kings descend from their urns and form a grave dance. At the end of this, while Tarquinius is dancing a solo, Brutus suddenly enters with some Roman Senators. Terrified by their appearance, the Kings retreat. Brutus then compels them to serve his own glories by forcing them to form his equestrian statue out of some stones found there. While this trophy is raised, the Roman Senators weave a joyful dance, which Brutus concludes with a solo dance.
