A detailed architectural engraving depicting the ancient Roman theater of Iguvium (modern Gubbio). The plate consists of three primary visual components:
1. At the top is an elevation of the theater in its ruined state, showing the remaining stone arches and upper walls, labeled with the letters A and H.
2. In the middle is a speculative reconstruction of the theater's facade, featuring two levels of arcaded galleries, labeled B and C. Beneath this reconstruction is a linear scale bar.
3. At the bottom is a semi-circular ground plan of the theater (cavea), showing the arrangement of seating and passageways, labeled D and E. A decorative compass rose is placed in the center of the plan. Below the plan are two architectural profile details of cornices or moldings, labeled F and G.
