Regarding the greedy demon of Christ ?
He may fall down in worship, and to the contracted demon the divine offspring of the Son replies: "Depart, perfidious one, you shall serve the Lord who thunders alone." The work was done, and immediately he vanished into thin air.
Under of Christ ??
Dividing the core of the law from the husk, that is, from the people the common crowd, he offered the epitomes of eternal life, and by expunging the doctrines of the scribes of the greedy mind, he scattered the seeds, the luxuries of the high priests, and the pride of the age. Criticizing the joys, the Jews the harmful Pharisaic crowd, he plucks away the supports, uncovers the snares and deceits, precursors of death. Christ scatters the words of his fame, not indignant to bring souls out from the shadows of hell to the duties of life, restoring them by a nod to their relatives by his will, which were dead and finished in the tombs. He was pleased to reconnect to the form the bodies which had long ago exhaled a sad stench.
Immediately envy is kindled, and a great conflict is stirred up, for vice wars against virtue, and profane things against holy things. They flow together, mercy fights against swollen pride, punishment is sought from the blood of the just, who is innocent, and demands are made, the high priests establish spectacles for the cruel rabble, Pilate the Roman governor raises the limbs of the life-bearing King high on the cross, the fixed wooden stake. The innocent blood is poured out from his whole body. Abundantly, the famous water flows, mixed with gore, by which ancient sin, from the origin of the world, is washed away, the first crimes of the fatherland, the primal atonements of guilt. Struck by love for the human race.
