of this school, and especially this Paulinum original: "Paulinum", a reference to the school established in the tradition of the Apostle Paul, which we more rightly call the Mauricianum original: "Mauricianum", named after the Elector Maurice of Saxony after you, its benefactor and preserver, be kept in good repair. Finally, we pray that everything pertaining to studies and their support, which you, most blessed Maurice, wished to remain safe and sound, may be adorned and amplified.
That this may be done in its proper place, time, and order, we pray for success and happiness from the immortal and merciful God, the Father of our Savior Jesus Christ. To Him alone we commend with pious vows and sighs the entire illustrious Saxon house, and within it, above all, our most clement Lord, Christian II, the new Elector, together with his most serene Mother and his illustrious Brothers, our lords, along with the afflicted Church and Academy, and the entire body of those who teach and those who learn.
