The Holy Spirit, who revealed himself on the day of Pentecost and thereafter with great power and wonders in the apostles of Christ, confirms and clarifies this doctrine further through the beloved apostles, as can be found abundantly in their surviving writings, especially in the First Epistle of Peter, chapter 2, where the Holy Spirit says through the apostle Peter that through the knowledge of the Lord Christ, the precious and greatest promises have been granted to us. By this, the Holy Trinity—God the Father, God the Son, and the Lord Holy Spirit—publicly teaches and testifies to us that the healing and salvation of all human souls consists solely in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that without and outside of this knowledge, one cannot be made righteous before God, nor obtain forgiveness of sins or eternal life.

Whoever rightly knows Christ the Son of God also knows GOD the Father at the same time. For Christ is the image of the invisible God, a radiance of his glory and the exact imprint of God's nature. Therefore, Christ the LORD himself also says:
John 14.
"If you know me, you also know my FATHER." Item: "Philip, whoever sees me, sees the FATHER."

How and by what means one knows Christ.
And now that we have learned this from the testimonies of God himself, we must further learn how or by what means one knows the Son of God, our Lord and Savior: namely, solely through faith in him. Therefore, the words "to know Christ" and "to believe in Christ" in
