VI. Our good works are not necessary for our redemption and salvation.
Thus, the Holy Scripture also testifies in many places, with many manifest testimonies, that there is no other way through which we could come to God or to heaven and be saved than through Christ alone. For the Apostle Peter says: "This is the stone rejected by you builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is no salvation in any other, nor is there any other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4.
And Christ Himself: "No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, namely the Son of Man who is in heaven." John 3.
Likewise: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14.
For this Christ is the only ladder that the patriarch Jacob saw, which had one end in heaven and the other end on earth, being true God and true man. Upon it, the believers ascend to heaven to God, and the dear angels come from heaven to earth for the service of the believers. He has won both. Genesis 28.
