As the Rubric heading/title of this Tractatus treatise testifies, these present pages deal with such a materia substance that is both curieux curious/interesting and useful. And therefore the publisher of this writing did not want to fail to deliver it to the learned world and especially to those lovers of noble Chymiæ chemistry, assuring that everything put forth and revealed therein comes from a learned man's well-organized Bibliotheque library, according to an accuraten accurate transcript of the Originalien originals of the mentioned Autorum authors. Therefore, one lives in the undoubted hope that everyone will grant a kind and dispassionate Censur judgment to this work itself, and let it be recommendirt recommended in the best way. The readiness of the publisher, who did not want to withdraw this well-wrought and useful writing from the bono publico public good, but rather wanted to free it from the mold of oblivion, should be taken in the best spirit. Farewell, therefore,
and do not let the time spent reading this most worthy writing with mature reflection be a cause for regret.
