the spirit over, at first with very gentle heat, then somewhat stronger, as at first; you can do this several times. For this our Materia matter is a true magnet that draws to itself the air-spirit or Spiritum universi spirit of the universe, from which everything has its growth, nourishment, and preservation. Thus you have separated the Elementa elements and made a □ square/quaternity. But you must separate the 4 elements from one another again, namely the ∇ Water from the △ Sulfur and 🜁 Air. The air and fire, however, remain together and cannot be separated from each other; therefore, you must let all the drawn-over ∇ Water digest in a retort or flask with a blind helm in N. B. Balneum Naturae / natural bath for 4 weeks. Afterwards, draw over the 🜁 Air separately, first with gentle △ fire, and then with stronger △ fire draw the ∇ Water over separately as well, and separate them from each other. Then correct the 🜁 Air so long and so often that it becomes quite sweet and lovely and so penetrating that one can hardly contain it. Some pour the transitioned ∇ Water onto the ☉ Gold several times and correct the 🜁 Air in this way. Now you must also make the ⊖ Salt or separate the 3 Chemical Principles. The ⊖ Salt you must likewise prepare from no other Materia matter than only our Minera ore, for it is not the ⊖ Salt of the vulgar, but of the philosophers. Therefore, tere grind—which among the wise means as much as solve dissolve—through a special instrument, which I cannot describe to you, but must show [you]. Make such ground-down Mineram ore alive through its own salt, and guard yourself that you do not take ☿ Mercury or ♁ Antimony thereto, as some do,
