R
A gold-tooled heraldic supralibros (coat of arms) stamped into a worn vellum or leather book cover. The central design consists of two oval shields placed side-by-side under a single large, ornate royal crown. The shield on the left contains quarterly markings including lions and hearts, suggestive of Danish or Scandinavian royal arms. The shield on the right is also quartered with various heraldic charges. Below the two main shields is a smaller escutcheon or cartouche. The entire heraldic achievement is enclosed within a decorative oval laurel wreath. To the left of this central ornament, a single capital letter 'R' is handwritten in dark ink on the cover material.
