The First Step to Conversion

to become a fruit / whether in love / or in the wrath of God: and he shall now first consider / that he has not yet labored in the vineyard of Christ : and that he is a withered branch on the vine of Christ : where in such persons (who are stirred by the spirit of Christ / in such contemplation) great lamenting and heart-sorrow / inward wailing commences / over the days of his wickedness / which he has thus (without having labored in Christ's vineyard) squandered and spent in vanity.

Now / for such a person (whom the spirit of Christ leads into repentance / so that his heart is opened to the knowledge and sorrow of his sins) it is very easy to advise: he only needs to appeal to the promise of Christ / which says there that God does not desire the death of the poor Sinner / but commands them all to come to Him / He wishes to refresh them: and that there is great joy in Heaven / over one Sinner who does penance.
