The First Step to Conversion

firmly imagine for himself that he stands in that same hour and moment before the countenance of the Holy Trinity, and that God is truly present within him and outside of him, as the Holy Scripture points out, which says there:

Am I not the one who fills everything?
Item / The word is near you, namely in your mouth and heart. Item / We want to come to you and make a dwelling in you. Item / I want to remain with you every day until the end of the world. Item / The Kingdom of God is within you. [ Item / He is not far from any one of us. ]

Thus he shall know and believe for certain that he stands with his soul before the countenance of Jesus Christ (before the Holy Godhead): and that his soul has turned its back upon the countenance of God: and that he now, at this same hour, wishes to turn the eyes and the desire of his soul toward God, and to come to the Father like the poor, lost, and returning Son: he must, with eyes cast down from his soul and mind, in fear and highest humility, begin to confess his sins
