death: And He now gives such a Testament to His believers as a booty, and makes them into vine-branches on the vine-stock of His flesh and blood, so that they are thereby or through which grafted into Him, and made into His true children, in whom He Himself with His flesh and blood (with such a testamentary booty) wants to dwell: and so that they may thus here (with a joyful foresight) in sincere childlike humility, pray to the Father, in the name of His Son Iesu Christi Jesus Christ, so He wants to give them such grace, John 16:24.

3. He presents such a Testament to us in twofold form. Firstly, through His preached word, through which He stirs and opens the hearts of the hearers, that they thus enter into a right contrition of their sins, and turn themselves to such booty of His Testament.
