Dear Brother (both teacher and listener), you who touch the Covenant of Christ, see well to what you do (there is a great earnestness with the Covenant) that you do not become guilty of the death of Christ. Consider indeed diligently the great earnestness of God, how He has instituted this Covenant [understand the Lord's Supper] with such great disdain and suffering. There must truly have been a great and heavy cause that such a Testament has been ordained with such earnestness: God demands in return from the human being [that he] accept (such a Testament) with earnestness: not with cold and lukewarm hearts, desiring only to cover the suffering of Christ over
