On What Is Just Regarding the Alienation of Property of Minors

...to anyone who examines it without prejudice. Historical faith proves that this is the only cause which, in the passage of time, has extorted its veneration even from unwilling foreign nations. I think there is hardly a need to illustrate this with examples taken from here and there, since the subject of pupils, Minors, and the alienation of their goods alone will immediately convince anyone with what prudence, precaution, equity, and justice the Roman Laws were used to avert harm to such persons. We have resolved to discuss this subject in place of an Academic Dissertation, and to demonstrate from the very sources of the Roman Laws that which is just regarding the said alienation. We strive with infinite arguments that all these things be received with fair and benevolent censure by the Kind Reader.
