Philological Dissertation on Honored, Learned, Adored, and Fruitful Virginity

It is rather what God promised, what heaven portended, what the Prophet announced, and what the soul of man sensed. The faith of that matter, which still flourishes in the Canons and Citizens of Chartres, saved the world. Animated, therefore, by this faith toward an inquiry into Virginity, whatever it is, MOST ILLUSTRIOUS AND LEARNED MEN, I offer it to you, to be hung in the domes of your Ieroparthenou Sacred Virgin according to my vow, if indeed you allow it.
