A very clear light will shine upon this matter if the parts of the Macrocosm are examined more exactly, both as viewed in themselves and as related to other parts. In the animal kingdom, the Microcosm, or man, provides a thousand examples, so that paper would fail sooner than those examples would. Look briefly at Physiology: Is not every ferment a sort of meeting place and a magnetism attraction/influence of spirits? Thus, ethereal spirit flows to the ferment of bile original: "☿" (Mercury/Spirit), without which its flame is extinguished. This also occurs in other fermentations. For when the pancreatic juice and the bile meet, both inflowing spirits are magnetically attracted from the villous crust of the intestines; this spirit is then the cause of the boiling, resolves the food, and grants the final perfection to the chyle, see the Physiological College of the Excellent President §. 27. How does it happen that the crude and undigested drinks of gluttons pass through the excretory vessels of the kidneys so quickly? Unless you posit a certain magnetic motion—given that the paths leading there are hitherto unknown and undemonstrated—then, with those paths denied, mechanical motion must be ruled out. I pass over lightly the most rapid and abundant movement of chyle to the breasts, and the yield of milk in nurses barely an hour or two after a meal, since the direct ducts to the breasts have not yet been sufficiently demonstrated by anatomists nor proven with undoubted faith. Regarding the movement of chyle to the uterus, see the history of the dog about to cast its puppies in the Ephemerides of the Germans. The magnetic influx of a human into parts dissected from his own body and adapted to others by the art of grafting may be read in the writings of others, Helmont, Treatise on the Magnetic Cure of Wounds; Rattray; there you will see that grafted flesh, once the primary subjects have died, contracted harm and rotted away, and died in the foreign and grafted subject. Who would deny that this very thing has a genuine cause in nature, since the commerce of the co-symbolic spirit, which still intervened between both, makes the matter most clear? We will not dwell further on reviewing the Magnetisms observed in man, when viewed in himself and in relation to his own parts. Let us also consider that which is kai exo outside, that is, toward the exterior and indeed either toward his own species, namely other men, or toward foreign species, and those either brute, mineral, or vegetable.
