Label on the spine: Cat. 29
Fragmentary text on red leather spine label: OF
A woodcut depicts the front cover and spine of a mottled brown leather book binding. Centered on the front board is a large, ornate, oval gold-stamped heraldic crest. This coat of arms features a complexly quartered shield surmounted by a royal crown and flanked by two lions rampant as supporters. The shield is encircled by the collar and pendant of the Order of the Golden Fleece. In the upper-left quadrant of the cover, a capital letter "R" is handwritten in dark ink. The spine, visible on the left, has five raised bands. The compartments between the bands are decorated with gold-tooled floral motifs. Affixed to the top compartment of the spine is a white paper library label with a border of small black stars, containing the text "Cat. 29". Below this is a red morocco leather label, largely worn, with the word "DE" visible in gold lettering at the top.
