The following book collection, which contains the works of Mattheson and Marpurg, as well as German musical critical journals, completely, and the latter up to the present time, is divided under the following headings:
I. History and Criticism.
II. Rudiments, also instructions for singing and instruments.
III. Instructions for thorough-bass and composition.
IV. Acoustics, calculations of pitch and temperament; also organ and instrument construction.
V. Printed domestic and foreign music catalogs. To these are also attached:
VI. Portraits of musical writers and composers.
VII. Organ facades.
The anonymously printed works are marked with an asterisk (*). Moreover, I have sought to provide the necessary information regarding the life and works of the authors and artists appearing here, if not in the Lexicon, then in the accompanying, but still unpublished, supplements.
