The mole is endowed with many glands; when the skin is removed, four pairs of glands are found. The first pair is situated on either side of the anterior part of the neck, the second pair between the shoulder blades, the third pair where the hind limbs begin, and the fourth pair finally in the muscles of the abdomen, whose excretory ducts empty into the rectum. The glandula thyrioïdea thyroid gland and the glandula thymus thymus gland seem to be connected, as it were, to the third gland hidden under the manubrium of the sternum. It can hardly be doubted that they exert a certain power upon the organs of respiration, especially since that third glandular body covers the part of the trachea windpipe hidden under the manubrium.
The size of the male genitalia reproductive organs and the abundance of semen have already moved many to wonder. No less remarkable to me seems the position of the same, and of the female genitalia, outside the pelvis, which we have already mentioned above.
