Section I.

On the skull.

The cranium skull of the Talpa europaea European mole displays such a singular shape that its like cannot be found in the order of mammalium mammals. The ossa calvariae bones of the skullcap are slightly depressed and broad, and elongated toward the forehead. The frons forehead, where it begins, is broader than the anterior part of the ossa bregmatis parietal bones. The nasus nose is narrower than the forehead, which it equals in length, such that if you consider it, the nose is one-fourth of the entire head. The surface of the face equals barely half of the cranium. The Camperi angulus facialis Camper's facial angle measures 18 to 19 degrees. —
