6, 7. ossa frontis frontal bones (1), 8. os ethmoïdeum ethmoid bone. (2) The sutura sagittalis sagittal suture (3) alone is composed in such a way that it can properly be called true. The sutura lambdoïdea lambdoid suture and the coronal suture are similar to squamous sutures, so that the name Harmonia a type of immovable suture suits them. A trace of the ossis transversi transverse bone (4) is present; it has a shape and position such as is observed in mice.
1. Basilar bone.
The basilar bone is joined not only with all the bones of the cranium, but also with the vomer, the ossa jugalia cheekbones, the ossa palatinis palatine bones, with the first cervical vertebra, and with the maxilla inferior lower jaw. It is composed of two principal parts, the os sphenoïdeum sphenoid bone and the os occipitis occipital bone.
Occipital bone.
The os occipitis, similar to the human, can be divided into three parts: a) the occipital part; b) the partes condyloïdeae condylar parts; c) the basilar part. The margins are
