A highly detailed 16th-century copper-engraved map of the County of Holland and its surrounding regions, oriented with West at the top. The coastal areas, including the Wadden Islands (Vlielandt, Texel) and the Zuiderzee, are prominently featured. Decorative elements include a large title cartouche on the left side adorned with floral motifs and a grotesque mask, a royal coat of arms with a lion rampant at the top center, a scale of miles at the top right, a compass rose in the Zuiderzee, and several contemporary sailing vessels and sea monsters depicted in the North Sea ("OCEANI GERMANI PARS"). Hundreds of place names, waterways, and dikes are labeled throughout the landscape.
