Augustine.
The opinion of Augustine is that this name came to him because of his changed religion, which he shares with Ambrose: Ambrose. This is also probable, since even today the Jews change their names with their religion. But against this, in our Apostle, it is objected that after his change of religion he is still called Saul twice, but this is not without reason.
