PROJECTIONS

A decorative hand-colored Rococo border frames the text. The border consists of elaborate foliage scrolls in green, brown, and gold. Integrated into the ornamentation are several astronomical instruments: a quadrant on the left, a telescope and a level on the right, and a smaller triangular instrument (possibly a graphometer or sextant) at the bottom center. At the top center of the border is a dark, solid circle representing a celestial body in eclipse.
