Fifth, you shall not kill. You break this when you are angry with your neighbor without cause, or when you mock him by calling him a fool, or when you desire the death of someone whom you are unable or afraid to kill yourself.

Sixth, you shall not steal. You break this when you violently seize the goods of another, either secretly or openly, such as when you steal one's fame and honor through detraction.

Seventh, you shall not commit adultery, that is, you shall not lust in any way. But if you cannot contain yourself, marry, and then you may do so lawfully. You break this not only when you perform the act, but also when you look at someone curiously and with concupiscence, and even more so when you desire a virgin or a betrothed woman.

Eighth, you shall not bear false witness against anyone. This you break when you even hire or encourage others to bear false witness, or when you circumvent others with crafty words to deceive them.

Ninth, you shall not covet the wife of another; you shall not commit adultery. You break this
