Therefore, you who are condemned and are to be condemned, give honor to the living and true God, give honor to Jesus Christ His Son, and to the Holy Spirit the Comforter. In whose name and power I command you, whoever you are, unclean spirit, that you depart and recede from this servant of God, N., whom today God and our Lord Jesus Christ has deigned to call by His gift to His holy grace and blessing, and the fountain of baptism, so that he may become His temple through the water of regeneration for the remission of all sins. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is to come.

Then the priest spits onto his left hand and dips the thumb of his right hand into the spittle, and with this thumb he makes a cross on the child's right ear and says:
Ephphatha, which is to say, "Be opened."

Then in the nostrils, and he says:
"Into the odor of sweetness."

Then in the left ear, and he says:
"But you, flee, devil; for the kingdom of God will approach."

Then the priest enters the church and blesses the font if it is not yet blessed, as shown below. If the font is already blessed, he shall approach the baptistery, and with the godparents present, the child is named, and the priest says:
"N., do you renounce Satan?" They shall say in the vernacular, "I renounce." "And all his works?" They shall say again, "I renounce." "And all his pomps?" They shall say for the third time, "I renounce."
