Here begins the order of minor baptism, or the baptizing of the infirm. And first, the priest breathes upon the face of the infant, saying: Depart, unclean spirit, etc., as above.
Then let him impose a name upon him and say: Receive the sign of the cross, etc., making a cross on the forehead of the child, as above.
The Lord be with you. Let us pray. Almighty and everlasting God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, etc., as above.
Then let the salt be exorcised, as above, and place some of it into the mouth of the infant, saying: Receive the salt of wisdom, etc., as above. Prayer for the infirm:
I beseech your healing, O Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and everlasting God, who succors in dangers, who tempers punishments while You strike, we humbly beseech You that You may deliver this Your servant from this sickness, so that the enemy may not prevail even unto the temptation of the soul, set a limit for him as You did for Job, lest the enemy begin to triumph over this soul, delay, O Lord, the exit of death, and extend the duration of life, relieve him whom You lead to the grace of Your baptism. Then let the Gospel be read: Little children were brought to Jesus, etc.
Then let him lay on his hand and say the Our Father. Hail Mary. I believe in God.
Then let him catechize him, saying: Let it not be hidden from you, etc., as above.
Then let him touch his ears, saying: Ephphatha, etc., as above.
Then let him bless the font if it is not blessed, as below. Then, if time permits, let him be asked about the renunciation, as above. Otherwise, let him be baptized immediately and it shall be finished, as above.
