If you ask the Father anything in my name, etc. John 16. Regarding this, the following questions can be disputed. First: Whether everyone who asks the heavenly Father in the name of Christ receives what they ask. Second: Whether it is true that the apostles asked for nothing in the name of Christ before the resurrection of Christ. Third: Whether spiritual joy can be fulfilled in this life.
¶ On Rogation days the Gospel is: At that time, Jesus said to his disciples, Which of you will have a friend, etc. Luke 11. Regarding this, the following questions can be disputed. First: Whether God alone is to be prayed to on these Rogation days, or also other saints. Second: Whether worldly things should be requested in our prayers. Third: Whether it should be hoped that sinners, by praying, obtain something from God.
¶ On the day of the Ascension of the Lord, the Gospel is: At that time, when the eleven were at table, etc. Mark 16. Regarding this, the following questions can be disputed. First: Whether it was fitting for Christ to ascend into heaven. Second: Whether the ascension of Christ was useful to us and fruitful for our salvation.
¶ Third: Whether it is fitting for Christ to sit at the right hand of the Father.
¶ On the Sunday within the octave, the Gospel is: At that time, Jesus said to his disciples, When the Paraclete shall come, etc. John 15. Regarding this, the following questions can be disputed. First: Whether the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son.
¶ Second: Whether the Holy Spirit sufficiently bore witness of Christ.
¶ On the day of Pentecost the Gospel is: At that time, Jesus said to his disciples, If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, etc. John 14. Regarding this, the following questions can be disputed. First: Whether it is fitting for the Holy Spirit to be sent visibly. Second: Whether he was fittingly sent in tongues of fire. Third: Whether it is true that the Holy Spirit taught
the apostles everything.
¶ On the day of the Holy Trinity, the Gospel is: At that time, There was a man of the Pharisees, etc. John 3. Regarding this, it was disputed on the feast of the Holy Cross. But regarding this feast itself, these things can be disputed. First: Whether a number of persons should be posited in the divine. Second: Whether, by natural reason, a plurality of persons can be known in the divine. Third: Whether this name God original: "deus" is uttered in the plural and of three persons, so that they are called three gods.
¶ On the first Sunday after Trinity, the Gospel is: At that time, Jesus said to his disciples, There was a certain rich man, etc. Luke 16. Regarding this damned rich man, the following questions can be disputed. First: Whether a separated soul can be tormented by corporeal fire. Second: Whether the souls of the damned see the glory of the blessed. Third: Whether the damned would want all others to be damned.
¶ On the second Sunday, the Gospel is: A certain man made a great supper, etc. Luke 14. Regarding this, the following questions can be disputed. First: Whether the supper of beatitude prepared for the saints consists of bodily goods. Second: Whether the occupation and solicitude for temporal things excludes a man from the supper of eternal beatitude. Third: Whether sinful men should be compelled to do good.
¶ On the third Sunday, the Gospel is read: There were approaching Jesus, the publicans, etc. Luke 15. Regarding this, the following questions can be disputed.
¶ First: Whether the angels rejoice over sinners doing penance.
¶ Second: Whether they rejoice more over one sinner doing penance than over ninety-nine just persons who do not need penance.
¶ On the fourth Sunday, the Gospel is: Be merciful, etc. Luke 6
