Thus, morally, men were before the coming of Christ in this world, without a leader, not finding the way of eternal life, but the Father sent the Son, Christ, as a leader. The King of Ai, that is, a pagan, that is, the devil, came to fight against men, and he dispersed them in every land. But Joshua, that is, Christ, raised the sign of the Holy Cross on the Mount of Olives, to which He ascended, where His body shone like a golden shield. A wedding was made in Cana of Galilee. John 2:1 No virtue is so necessary to man as faith, because without faith it is impossible to please God. And because in the beginning of His childhood they doubted, therefore Christ willed to show these three things in the Gospel, because to change water into wine in the twinkling of an eye was the operation of His divinity. The redemption of the human race was the calling of the disciples, as is clear in the Gospel.
