The image depicts the exterior of a historical book binding. The spine and a portion of the front cover are covered in light-colored, possibly vellum or pigskin, material featuring an embossed or stamped geometric pattern of repeating diamond shapes. The remainder of the front cover is made of a plain, dark brown wooden board, showing signs of age including small wormholes. A metal clasp mechanism is visible on the right edge of the wooden board.
