this is the reason why the whole world is not with us. But there is no one of such meager intellect, provided he is willing to open his eyes, who does not perceive that the entire Christian religion has degenerated, that there is no purity of doctrine within it, that everything is overflowing with impostures, and that the worship of God is almost entirely perverted; finally, that the Papacy is such a hotchpotch of superstitions, deceits, fallacies, and snares of Satan that the confusion of Babylon would have been lesser. It is not the place here to explain this in more detail, for it would be a matter of a huge volume. We have undertaken nothing else but to explain our faith simply, by which we call upon the living God with confidence in His only Son, our Savior and Redeemer.
