Behold again the rabid Cerberus a mythological three-headed dog guarding the underworld; here used as a metaphor for the Roman Papacy of the Roman court barks, and cannot bear the light of Christ that has risen and is wandering through all lands, peoples, and kingdoms, bringing knowledge. Driven by insane anger, it wants to oppress this light and instead bring back the darkness and filth of Tartarus the abyss of the underworld. It does this so that, stretched out in a vast cave, it may safely devour the wealth and wretched souls of the people and enrich the underworld with stolen prey, just as it has violently done for a long time. It does not see, though it has been tested so many times and has striven for many years with all its might, and with art and guile, that it struggles in vain. It is as if it intended to drive the sun from the high pole and confuse the world, which is arranged in beautiful order, back into ancient chaos. Just as the omnipotent Father once founded it with a word, so He also keeps it with unconquered strength. But the visible sun is not the only thing, nor are the stars, nor the dry earth, nor finally the whole world.
