This library is built in the open.
If you spot an error, have a suggestion, or just want to say hello — we’d love to hear from you.

Bless these feasts and Your gifts, O Christ,
So that they may cherish weary bodies by Your command.
Bread does not act upon life in a fragile body only,
Your word makes for long times of life.
THANKSGIVING
after food has been consumed.
After hunger is taken away by feasts, and the tables removed,
We shall say thanks to You, highest Father.
These foods will not help human strengths,
If they are not cherished by divine help.
For all things move, living by Your Divinity,
All things breathe and are strong by Your inspiration.
Now also, with grateful minds, minister food,
And feed our breasts with immortal nourishment.
And because we are Your care, best Father, preserve us,
And rule our studies and all the times of our life.
And when You have given us the feasts of things, best Father,
Add to the feasts strengths on account of Your goodness. Amen.
DISTICH.
So that your prayer may reach, and penetrate heaven,
It is made from a pure heart, it is made brief and frequent.
ON THE DECALOGUE
If a boy produces the precepts from the divine mouth,
And you perform the commands of God with a chaste breast.
