XI. Furthermore, it is known by observation that if the fluid of those who have such head wounds flows of its own accord, death follows; but if it flows by regulation of diet, it is a healthy sign. For if it flows of its own accord, since the matter is undoubtedly subsiding from the affection of the head, it threatens danger, with the disease overcoming nature. But if the bowel becomes moist according to the proportion of food, the matter having been attenuated and having fallen to the lower parts, the places around the head are not infested, and thus they are easily cured with no heaviness accompanying them.
