Let other poets implore the power of the Muses
To bring their delights to your verses, O Phoebus:
But do you, good CHRIST, assist my efforts,
And your praise shall be my eternal song.

I, along with the primates, ask this of you, new bridegroom, with proven
sincerity, and the mixed crowd prays this with me.
