May the supreme divinity be willing to be present, so that this new husband may live joyfully with his joyful wife. For God established the covenant of the marriage chamber first, at the very beginning, so that it might become a shared faith. In the earthy Adam original: "luteo Adamo" - referring to the creation of Adam from the dust of the earth, to whom God gave Eve, the delight of life and a helper, this is shown. Before this, there were no civil laws or sacred rites among the people, nor were holy things to be recited. The Almighty wished that the first humans should learn this first law, to fill the earth with new offspring. For thus He wished that the seed which was God Himself should be born from the lineage of the human race. This very seed had to fully atone for the offenses on account of which the anger of the highest Father burned. Therefore, reverence must be had for holy matrimony; it is not a deed done rashly, nor without counsel. Furthermore, the Author guards these chaste bonds until all things have reached their final day. And what is wonderful, He joins friendly spirits; no Lord can be known by any other thing. Whether it is the skill of the man or the woman, whatever it holds, that which God Himself commands proceeds. Neither bronze, nor beauty, nor great money is sometimes useful, although they carry great weight. When this excellent state of life is formed, God wills it to be ruled by the divine mind. Hence, divine oracles show us so often that a pure bride is made by the exalted God. You will seek riches from brothers or through the death of parents, but a dear wife is not to be sought in such a way. That which never-revocable fate has provided for you, this you shall obtain, and she becomes yours wherever she may wish.
