Institutio vera de praecipuis fidei articulis

as Saul, Ahab, and impious kings were: for they resisted
God, and served the Devil through sin,
disobedience, foul idolatry, through gluttony,

through the mammon of iniquity. But princes are called
the sons of God for this reason, because they ought to
kiss and embrace the Son of God: it behooves them
to be instructed and to receive discipline,
to hear the word of God, to flee to the law and to the
testimony, and to learn the truth from the mouth of the
Lord, and they ought to follow and do the will of God.
For the crime of sorcery is, as Samuel testifies,
to rebel against God, to resist, to depart from the word
of God, not to obey God, not to learn from the
