and the flesh of Christ posterior to the Son of God, Iehouah Jehovah, El, Shaddai Almighty, or God of hosts. Because the Word of God is the beginning and the end, that is, Iehouah Jehovah the Creator of all, and the preserver of all. Isaiah 43, 44, 45: I am Iehouah Jehovah, Creator, preserver, I swear by myself, because every knee shall bend to me. Romans 14.
TWENTY-FIFTH INSTITUTION.
Just as in nature an argument from disparate things does not proceed—for example: Adam's body is mortal, corruptible, from the earth; therefore, Adam's soul is also corruptible, made from the slime of the earth, not inspired from the mouth of God—so this reasoning is foolish: Christ the man began to be a man and to be called God at the end of the age; therefore, the Word of God also began to be and to be called the Son of God. For the Word of God was with God from the beginning, before the creation, and all things were made through him. This Word of God, coming into the world, was made flesh, that is, he assumed the form of a servant, the seed of Abraham, at the end of the age.
