For having departed from a fixed point in the Zodiac, they return to the same point at a determined and set time. Some, however, move more quickly, others more slowly, according to the magnitude of each circle, by the nod of God most powerful, as David not without reason sang: "The heavens declare the glory of God," etc.

In fact, it is ascertained that the Moon, which is carried with the greatest humility of all the celestial Spheres and is the lowest, and for that reason measures a smaller space with its circle, completes its course in an interval of 28 days, at which time at last it begins to be called New.

The orbs of Mercury and Venus, being superior to the Moon, imitate the course of the Sun most closely. He, however, completes his annual revolution in 365 days, with approximately one fourth of a day added.
