I perhaps speak too many words about these things, Illustrious and Magnificent Lord, especially to you to whom these things are known. But as I warned before, these things are not written by me for the purpose of teaching and confirming you, but the indignity of the matter compels me to touch upon these things, which ought to have been accused with a much more serious and vehement speech. I now offer this Response of ours to your Magnificence, Illustrious Lord, and I pray to God that He may confirm your Magnificence in the knowledge of Himself, and preserve you for the defense of the church, and increase you perpetually with His gifts.
