VI.
For whom is it decorous to drag long trains of garments? For no man, since it is mocked in women and disapproved of in men.
VII.
Why are sheer fabrics considered a disgrace for both men and women? Because in old times it was not becoming for the infamous to use transparent and soft clothing. Whence Juvenal says: "Let not a condemned woman wear such a toga." Therefore, since the primary use of garments is to honor the body and to cover those parts that are shamefully shown to the eyes of men, it is highly proper to use more honorable garments, which will cause no injury to the body.
VIII.
For whom is it suitable to wear clothes shorter than what covers the buttocks when bending? Not for well-mannered and honorable boys, but for cynaedi effeminate men/sodomites, apes, or monkeys.
IX.
Is it becoming for boys to walk about with their tunics thrown back over their shoulders and their sleeves hanging down to the ground, flapping? By no means; for that is the habit of loose, dissolute people...
