22 You shall also make in the Breastplate chains of termination with braided work of pure gold.
23 You shall also make two golden rings in the breastplate, and you shall place those two rings at the two extremities of the breastplate.
24 You shall also place two golden chains in the two rings at the extremities of the breastplate.
25 And you shall insert the two extremities of the two chains into the two settings, and you shall place them on the sides of the ephod in front of it.
26 You shall also make two golden rings, which you shall place in the two extremities of that breastplate on its edge, which is on the inner side of the ephod.
27 You shall also make two other golden rings, which you shall place on the two sides of that ephod below in front of it, near its junction above the belt of the ephod.
28 Thus they shall join the breastplate by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a hyacinth thread, so that it may be above the belt of that ephod, and the breastplate may not be separated from the ephod.
29 Therefore Aaron shall bear the names of the sons of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he shall enter into the sanctuary, for a memorial before Iehouah continually.
30 You shall also place in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and Thummim original: "Vrim & Thummím," sacred objects used for divination, so that they may be upon the heart of Aaron when he shall enter before Iehouah: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the sons of Israel upon his heart before Iehouah always.
31 You shall also make the robe of the ephod entirely of hyacinth.
32 And there shall be an opening at the top of it in its middle: there shall be a rim for that opening around it of weaver's work, like the opening of a coat of mail, so that it may not be torn.
33 And you shall make on its hems pomegranates of hyacinth and purple and scarlet worm: in its hems, I say, around about, and golden bells in the midst of them around about.
34 One golden bell and a pomegranate, another golden bell and a pomegranate on the hems of the robe around about.
35 And it shall be upon Aaron to minister, and its sound shall be heard when he shall enter the Sanctuary before Iehouah, and when he shall exit: and he shall not die.
36 Furthermore, you shall make a plate of pure gold, and you shall engrave upon it with ring engravings, Holiness to Iehouah himself.
37 Which you shall place on a hyacinth thread, and it shall be upon the mitre, it shall be opposite the front of the mitre.
38 And it shall be upon the forehead of Aaron, and Aaron shall bear the iniquity of the sanctifications which the sons of Israel shall sanctify in all their gifts of sanctification: it shall be, I say, upon his forehead continually for their acceptance before Iehouah.
39 And you shall make the fine linen tunic with checkered work, you shall also make the fine linen mitre, you shall also make the belt with embroidery.
40 And for the sons of Aaron you shall make tunics, you shall also make for them belts and caps for glory and beauty.
41 And you shall clothe with them Aaron your brother, and his sons with him: and you shall fill their hand, and you shall sanctify them, so that they may perform the priesthood for me.
42 Make for them also linen breeches to cover the flesh of their shame: they shall be from the loins even to the thighs.
43 And they shall be upon Aaron and upon his sons when they enter the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they shall approach the altar to minister in holiness: and they shall not bear iniquity, nor shall they die. A perpetual statute for him, and for his seed after him.
Num. ch. 18, verse 6.
INDEED, I have taken your brethren the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel, as a gift for you, given to Iehouah, so that they may minister in the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
CH. 3, v. 9. Give, I say, the Levites to Aaron himself and his sons: for they are given, given indeed to him by the sons of Israel.
10 And you shall appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall guard their priesthood: and an outsider indeed who shall approach, shall die.
11 Furthermore, Iehouah spoke to Moses, saying,
12 I indeed have taken the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel, in place of every firstborn that opens the womb, from the sons of Israel, and the Levites shall be mine.
13 For everything that is firstborn is mine: from the day on which I struck every firstborn in the land of Egypt, I sanctified for myself every firstborn in Israel: as well from men as from animals, they shall be mine: I am Iehouah.
