Upon these discussions a speech was made in Latin,
Which was cultivated by the learned labor of Aichmann.
Commended: and inscribed in print to the learned Schmidlapp:
Whom I said before had ascended to the heavenly homes.
Sent to his Father, it stood as a specimen of great progress:
And hope was doubled in such a way.
Then, intending to see places, various men, and regions,
(A matter worthy of your office, learned in Law)
He saw the towns of Saxony, and the neighboring ones everywhere:
And he saw, land of Meissen original: "Misnica terra", your rites.
With such things finished: he returns from there to Swabian Tübingen:
So that he might see the boundary of his study in this city.
Here, with what efforts of nourishing Law
His fervent care has turned the books:
There is no need to speak with many words, because the matter is very clear:
All of Tübingen asserts this with its own fame.
Hidden in the abstruse gardens of the winding Law,
He wore out his nights in these, he wore out his days in these.
How many good praises were won for him of celebrated fame,
While piety was associated with studies:
His integrity, and gentle affability:
Known, what is first, is his nourishing faith.
