Ps. 127 and 128. Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain, etc. It is in vain for you to rise before light, etc.

Without God, no sailor will be happy.
A man wanders, whoever trusts in himself ineptly:
The salvation of men is vain: the Divinities alone make one blessed.
Therefore, while the pious Priest performs the Sacraments:
And binds two hearts with unanimous faith:
Before the sacred altars: and finally at the very table,
And on the way, solicit Heaven with prayers:
That He may breathe with a placid nod: and with a mild favor
May promote the legitimate Work of THIS LIGHT.
Which God first instituted in the garden of Paradise:
As the male Eve first came to the father of the beginning.
And which the Son of God, born from a pure Virgin,
Himself once sanctified by His own help:
Mixing Achelous's waters with Ambrosial wine:
As you, Galilee, stand amazed at God:
And as the guest sees the liquids, drawn from pure fountains,
Immediately to have turned into the desired wine.
And which the work that inflames the hearts of lovers,
The Olympian fire, that Holy Spirit, approved.
And by whose pious power the holy covenants coalesce for the new
Spouses: and they sit legitimately.

What could be more effective for the consolation of pious spouses than these three things? 1. The Father instituted marriage in paradise. Gen 3. 2. The Son, himself born in marriage, issued the first of his miracles for its sake. John 2. 3. The Holy Spirit still binds, kindles, and as it were glues together the hearts of lovers with the bond of legitimate charity.
