acceptable worship. So that toward these things I may use education itself as a tool. Since thou hast promised to give wisdom to the humble, and hast threatened to let the proud grow foolish in their own mind; and hast said that thou wouldst manifest thyself to those who are of a right mind, while thou wouldst blind the wicked; I also make this request of thee, that thou mayest lead me toward true humility, by which I might show myself docile and obedient first to thee, and then also to those who, by thy ordinance, are set over me. But beyond all these things, form in my heart a genuine and true desire to seek thee eagerly, having first rooted out from it depraved desires, so that I may now prepare myself so that I may be suitable for serving thee in that kind of life in which I shall be placed by thee when I reach manhood. But besides all these things, form in my heart a genuine and true desire to seek thee eagerly, with base desires having been rooted out from it beforehand, so that I may even now prepare myself so that I am fit to serve thee in that kind of life in which I shall be placed by thee when I reach the age of manhood. Make me obtain my prayer, O Father of mercies, through Jesus Christ. Amen.
