I connect the parts in this way. At the beginning is the title, which contains the person of the one writing and the person of those to whom it is written, and finally a pious prayer. In the second place is placed the exordium, which is led by the magnitude of the matters. For he begins from the commemoration of the highest benefits of God, which are offered to the pious in this profession, such as regeneration, preservation in every fortune, consolation in adversities, the testing of faith, and the like. These things act so that they excite the mind of the reader and carry it away into admiration of divine grace.
