If you spot an error, have a suggestion, or just want to say hello — we’d love to hear from you.

Therefore, just as those whom Paul gravely reproves, the Galatians, were lost to him, so this man is losing you, the French. But it is not good for either; rather, it is so that after he has excluded your faithful and former Pastors, and stirred up hatred against them among you, you might be lost to him. For this reason, the scope and plan of this man must be weighed more prudently by you, dearest Brothers, the more he insinuates himself with artifice and that specious zeal of his for the truth of God and the promotion of your salvation.
Matt. 10
But since the Lord Jesus himself commands that we be not only simple, like doves, but also prudent, like serpents, that spirit of being ἀκέραιοι guileless and φρόνιμος prudent must be sought from the Lord, Brothers, so that you do not believe any man saying, Behold, here is Christ Matt. 24. For what else will happen, in the end, than what the spirit of God predicted, namely that you be tossed about by every wind of doctrine, and become ἀκατάστατοι unstable in the faith of God Eph. 4? Therefore, watch again and again, Dearest, so that no one may seduce you. Many, indeed, once offered their help for free to the Jews returning from the Babylonian captivity Ezra 4 who were rebuilding the temple of God. In the same way today, many seem to offer the same to you for free, and with a mind toward being studious of you: who yet (as you have often experienced by now) offer and promise this not to help you, but to disrupt that noble work begun by you. These men, when, as is in the old proverb, they do nothing with a white line they promise much but perform nothing, are certainly to be dismissed by you just as Plato banished the Poets from his city.
