in the future also be pleased to govern all my actions and thoughts to the glory of His name and the salvation of my neighbor with His holy Spirit. Under His guidance, I turn to you, most illustrious men, who have always been in the place of parents to me, humbly requesting that if at any time that most beautiful hope which the Just Emperor referring to Justinian I promises to students of the law—that with the work completed, one might even be able to govern the Republic in the duties entrusted to it—could be derived in me under your auspices, you would not disdain to assist me with your help and counsel.
