To spurious illegitimate children, only the mother and ascendants from the maternal line succeed.
And just as natural children succeed to the father for two ounces a fractional share, so also the father himself and his remaining ascendants are called to the inheritance of the children for two ounces.
Either the adopting father is a stranger, and he does not succeed to the adopted son who has died; or the son is adopted by a paternal or maternal grandfather, into whose power he passes, and he does succeed to the adopted son.
Those born from incest have no successors, neither father, nor mother, nor any of their ascendants, whether in the masculine or feminine line.
If no descendants or ascendants survive, then first of all, only the brothers and sisters joined by both parents, who are mutually joined by blood, are called in heads to the inheritance of the predeceased brother.
Children of brothers joined by both sides succeed with their paternal uncles, that is, the brothers of the deceased, in lines per stirpes; and they obtain such a portion as their father would have had if he had lived.
This privilege of representation is given only to the children of brothers; it shall not be extended to grandchildren in any way.
But if only the children of brothers or sisters survive, they are called to the goods of the paternal uncle, paternal aunt, maternal uncle, or maternal aunt in heads.
